On September 8, 2020, State Police arrested 36-year-old Danielle J. LaFrance of Cranberry Lake following an investigation of two separate burglaries that occurred in Cranberry Lake; one at a residence on Pennsylvania Avenue and another at Cranberry Lake Stone Manor Diner on State Route 3 in Cranberry Lake, town of Clifton. LaFrance unlawfully entered the residence on July 26, 2020, and stole various tools, camping gear and other household items. She also unlawfully entered the diner sometime during the overnight hours of August 26, 2020, and stole food from inside.
LaFrance was charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd degree. While LaFrance was under arrest at SP Gouverneur, she was found in possession of drug paraphernalia, to include methylphenidate, and buprenorphine hydrochloride, both controlled substances. She was also charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and two counts of Controlled Substance in Non-Original Container, under the NYS Public Health Law.
LaFrance was arraigned by the Town of Morristown Court and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear to the Town of Clifton Court and Gouverneur Town Court at later dates.
