Cuba man arrested for DWAI, petit larceny in Arcade

On May 28, 2019, SP Machias Troopers arrested Paul G. Phillips Jr., 31, of Cuba, NY for Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, Petit Larceny, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

During their investigation of an erratic driving complaint along roadways in the town of Yorkshire and village of Arcade, Troopers determined Phillips to have been operating his vehicle in an impaired condition and discovered him to be in possession of several items which had been stolen from Save a Lot in the town of Yorkshire and Tops Market in the village of Arcade. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Phillips failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. He was arrested and transported to SP Machias, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.07% BAC.

Phillips was issued appearance tickets for Yorkshire Town Court, and arraigned in Arcade Village Court, where he was released under a pretrial release agreement. He is due to reappear in that court later this month.
