PRESS RELEASE

The New York State Police advise the public to NEVER give your Social Security or any other private information over the phone.  If you receive a phone call and the caller identifies themselves as a member of the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) advising you that your Social Security number is being suspended, DO NOT give any information including your Social Security number.  This is a scam.  The DEA and other Law Enforcement agencies have no affiliation with Social Security matters.
