On August 14, 2019, New York State Troopers responded to a 911 call in Delanson for a domestic disturbance.  During the investigation, Troopers found that Matthias Perreault had been involved in a verbal dispute with the 27-year-old victim at his residence.  During the dispute, Perreault grabbed and squeezed the throat area of the victim until they lost consciousness.  Subsequently Perreault refused to allow them to leave the residence or call for emergency assistance.  The victim was able to call for assistance after another family member entered the residence.  Perreault was arrested for one count each of Strangulation 2nd degree, a Class D Felony, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and Criminal Mischief 4th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
 
Perreault was arraigned in the Town of Duanesburg court and remanded to Schenectady County Jail on $20,000 cash or $40,000 bail bond.  Perreault has a follow up court date of August 19, 2019 at Town of Duanesburg court.
