On June 6, 2020 at approximately 2:39 a.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested two teenagers from Delaware County after they engaged in two separate vehicle pursuits with troopers.

A 16-year-old was arrested for the felonies of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree, Grand Larceny in the third degree and two counts of the misdemeanor of Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the third degree.  A 17-year-old was arrested for the felonies of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree and Grand Larceny in the third degree.

Troopers were advised of an erratic driver traveling westbound on Interstate 88 near Unadilla.  Troopers observed the vehicle on the Interstate and attempted to make a traffic stop.  The vehicle failed to comply, accelerated off the Interstate at exit 10 and on to State Highway 7 in Unadilla.  Another trooper attempted to stop the vehicle on State Highway 7 when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree.  The two juveniles fled on foot.

As troopers searched for the suspects, they spotted them in another vehicle on State Route 7 in the village of Unadilla. They failed to comply when the troopers attempted to make a traffic stop but turned into the Speedway at the intersection of State Routes 7 and 8, where they were taken into custody.

An investigation revealed that the first vehicle was stolen from the town of Downsville.  The duo stole the second vehicle from the village of Unadilla after they crashed the first vehicle.   They were both virtually arraigned by a judge from the Otsego County Youth Part Superior Court and released to legal guardians.
