On May 22, 2020, at approximately 11:11 a.m., State Police responded to a report of domestic dispute at an address on Clintonville Road, in the town of Ausable.
An investigation at the scene revealed that 40-year-old Cory S. Lawyer, of Peru pushed the female victim and then took her phone from her when she contacted 911. Lawyer also ripped the victim’s shirt during an altercation. When State Police arrived, Lawyer resisted custody by pushing the troopers and then pulling away as he was handcuffed.
Lawyer was charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, two counts of Criminal Mischief 4th degree, Criminal Contempt 2nd degree, and Harassment 2nd degree. He was arraigned by the AuSable Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
