PRESS RELEASE
On August 21, 2022 at 5:50 P.M., Troopers out of SP Buffalo responded to I-90 west bound lane at the Slusser Road overpass in the town of Pembroke. Investigation determined that a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 pulling a trailer was traveling west bound on the I-90. The Dodge exited the roadway on the right shoulder and drove through a grassy area until it struck the Slusser Road bridge. The trailer became detached and came to rest vertically against the overpass. Both occupants of the Dodge, Thomas T. Cartmel, 64 of Crossville, AL and the passenger Deborah J. Burrelli, 67 of Rochester, NY were both pronounced deceased at the scene by the Genesee County Coroner and transported to Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
