Claverack, New York – On August 29, 2021, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks began investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on Preusser Road in the town of Claverack.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., Troopers were dispatched for a car off the roadway on Preusser Road that had struck a utility pole and was engulfed in flames.  Troopers responding to the scene located Robert G. Bailly, age 32, of Stockport, NY, severely injured and outside of the vehicle.  Kyle Germann, age 25, of New York, NY, was unfortunately discovered deceased inside the vehicle.  Robert Bailly was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Philmont and Claverack Fire Departments were also on scene rendering aid.
