Driver arrested after wrong way crash on the Northern State Parkway

PRESS RELEASE

On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at approximately 7:08am, the State Police received calls for a wrong way driver on the Northern State Parkway westbound in the eastbound lanes west of exit 35 in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County.  While the Chevy Equinox was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes it sideswiped a Toyota west of exit 35.  There were no reports of any injuries at the scene. 

The driver of the Chevy Equinox, Travis Kyles, 35 of Las Vegas, NV, refused a blood test and was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.

Kyles was transported to Nassau County Detention and will be arraigned at Nassau County First District Court on Wednesday August 3, 2022.
