PRESS RELEASE
 

On July 15, 2020 at approximately 9:17 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Michael DeAugustine, age 24 of Ithaca, NY for the felonies of Assault in the second degree, Strangulation in the second degree and the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree. 

Troopers and deputies from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a 911 complaint of a dispute on Third Street in the town of Dryden.  An investigation revealed that DeAugustine and a 27-year-old male were involved in a dispute that turned physical.  DeAugustine is accused of stabbing the 27-year-old male in the arm.  The victim was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center by Dryden Ambulance. 

DeAugustine was arrested and arraigned virtually.  He was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.  The victim was issued an ordered of protection by the judge.  DeAugustine is scheduled to appear in the town of Dryden court on July 20, 2020.
