On February 22, 2020, State Police in Sand Lake arrested 60-year-old David J. Parsons of East Greenbush, for Criminal Contempt 1st degree (E felony), Criminal Contempt 2nd degree (A misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief 4th degree (A misdemeanor) and Harassment 2nd degree (violation).

At approximately 7:40 a.m. on Saturday morning, Troopers responded to a residence in the Town of a Sand Lake for a domestic dispute. Parsons is accused of showing up at the victim’s residence, in violation of a stay away order of protection. While at the residence he engaged in a verbal confrontation with the victim, he then took their cell phone when they attempted to call for help, and pushed them into a room in the home.

Parsons had fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement, but was located a short time later and taken into custody.

Parsons was arraigned in Sand Lake Town Court and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail on $2,500 cash or bond. He is due back in court on a later date.
