On April 17, 2020, at approximately 2:19 p.m., State Police responded to a residence on Talcville Road in Edwards for a report of an individual shooting a rifle close to houses in a residential area. Following an investigation at the scene, 35-year-old Dylan A. Detlor of Edwards was arrested for shooting an assault-style rifle off a rear deck on his residence, less than 500 feet from another dwelling. The rifle was also found to have features that are illegal.
Detlor was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (Dfelony), and a violation of Environmental Conservation Law Illegal Discharge of a Firearm (A misdemeanor). He was arraigned in the Town of Gouverneur Court and released on his own recognizance.
