Enfield man wanted in Louisiana arrested

On April 26, 2022, at approximately 8:52 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca responded to a report of a domestic on Trumbulls Corners Road in the town of Enfield.    During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Roy L. Searles, age 41 of Newfield, NY is wanted on active warrants from the State of Louisiana.  He had fled the scene prior to the trooper’s arrival. 

New York State Police K9’s and a drone searched the area.  Troopers and members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation were assisted by numerous law enforcement agencies including the New York State Park Police, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies and Schuyler County Sheriff’s Deputies.   

Searles was spotted by a trooper and tracked by a New York State Police K9 shortly after 2:00 p.m. in a nearby wooded area off Rumsey Hill Road and taken into custody.  Searles was transported to the Tompkins County Jail as he awaits extradition.
