New York State Police at Deposit responded to a one-car fatal crash on Klondike Road in the town of Hancock on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.
At approximately 6:20 p.m., a trooper was dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of a vehicle that overturned and was on fire.  When the trooper arrived, the Hancock Fire Department was already on scene attempting to put out the flames.
An investigation revealed that 69-year-old Elizabeth J. Rosengrant of Fishs Eddy was operating a 2001 Hyundai Sante Fe when for an unknown reason went off the shoulder of the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.  The vehicle then struck another tree and subsequently caught on fire.
The Delaware County Corner responded to the scene and New York State Fire Investigators are assisting.   The case remains under investigation.
