Fatal crash in Taghkanic

Taghkanic, New York – On November 2, 2022, the New York State Police began investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on the Taconic State Parkway and Post Hill Road in the town of Taghkanic at approximately 3:55 p.m.

Initial investigation determined Craig A. McNulty, age 59, of Troy, NY, was traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway operating a 2018 BMW motorcycle and was struck by an eastbound Taconic Hills Central School District 2019 Chevrolet Traverse operated by Christine M. Costa, age 60, of Claverack, NY, crossing the northbound lanes from Post Hill Road. 

Craig McNulty was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Christine Costa was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.  The school vehicle also contained three student passengers who were all uninjured.

This investigation remains ongoing.
