Father Arrested following an Investigation into Injuries to his 5-Month-Old Child

On March 14, 2023, the New York State Police in Fulton was notified that a five-month-old infant was transported to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital with injuries determined to be inconsistent with an explanation given by the parents.

The investigation determined that the child’s father caused the injuries.  As a result of the investigation, Joseph D. McIntyre, age 24 from Phoenix, NY was arrested for Assault 2nd degree, (class “D” felony), Strangulation 2nd degree (class “D” felony), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (class “A” misdemeanor).

The infant is listed in stable condition.

McIntyre was transported to the Oswego County Jail pending arraignment at Oswego County C.A.P. Court.
