PRESS RELEASE

On April 17th, 2021, New York State Troopers arrested Ashley Bass, 30, of Fredonia, for Felony Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree and Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree.

In the early morning hours of April 17th, the Troopers observed a vehicle driving east on Route 20 in Fredonia cross completely into the westbound lane, then overcorrect and drive over a cement curb, shearing a sign and continue toward the traffic circle at the intersection of Route 60. The vehicle was stopped on Route 60 and after failing several SFSTs, Bass, who initially identified herself as another individual, was placed under arrest. Bass was transported to SP Fredonia where she provided a breath sample of .16. As Bass’ driving record revealed that she had been convicted of Driving While Intoxicated twice within the preceding 10 years, the charge was upgraded to a felony. Bass’ driving privileges in New York had also been revoked for an alcohol-related offense. Bass was processed, issued traffic tickets and an appearance ticket, and is scheduled to appear in the village of Fredonia Court later in the month.
