PRESS RELEASE
On December 13, 2022, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the eastbound Southern State Parkway west of exit 25 on a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta operated by Damon Marinacci, age 48 of Syosset, NY, for speeding. During the traffic stop, it was discovered that Marinacci was operating with a suspended license and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Marinacci was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree a B – Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, an A – Misdemeanor, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, an A – Misdemeanor and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor. Marinacci was arraigned at Nassau County First District Court on December 14, 2022 and was released on pre-sentencing supervision through the Nassau County Probation Department utilizing an electronic monitoring device.
After Marinacci’s release, information was developed that he was again in possession of narcotics inside of a hotel room in Hauppauge, NY. After investigative efforts by the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) and the Violent Gangs Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) on December 20, 2022, Mr. Marinacci was arrested again for the possession of methamphetamine, as well as Gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL) which is a pre-cursor to Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB) also known as the date rape drug, heroin, and numerous smoking implements and scales. Marinacci was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree w/Intent to Sell, a B – Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a B – Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, a D – Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, an A – Misdemeanor and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree, an A – Misdemeanor. Marinacci was held for arraignment at Suffolk County First District Court.
In addition to the arrest of Marinacci, the following people associated with this investigation were also arrested and found to be in possession of narcotics:
Joshua Boston, age 23 of Shirley, NY, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th an A – Misdemeanor. Boston was released on an appearance ticket answerable to the Suffolk County First District Court.
Daniel Davis, age 39 of Center Moriches, NY, Nicole Kamer age 29, of Center Moriches, NY and William Hurley, age 36 of Massapequa, NY were all charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree w/Intent to Sell, a B – Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, a B – Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, an A – Misdemeanor and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree, and A – Misdemeanor. All three of these individuals were held for arraignment at Suffolk County First District Court.
Due to the efforts of the Troopers and Investigators involved in this investigation, dangerous drugs were removed from our community and those responsible will now be held accountable for their actions.
