Former Schenectady man arrested in for unemployment fraud.

Former Schenectady man arrested in for falsifying records to fraudulently obtain $3,980 in unemployment benefits while living in the City of Schenectady.

Troopers and Investigators stationed at SP Princetown, in conjunction with the NYS Department of Labor, announce the arrest of a 46-year-old Woodhaven, Queens man for the Class D Felony of Grand Larceny 3rd and the Class E Felonies of Falsifying Business Records 1st and Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st.    

Sanjai Sookdeo was arrested after an investigation revealed that he submitted fraudulent records to the NYS Department of Labor to receive unemployment benefits totaling $3,980 between June and August of 2018 which he was not entitled to. 

Sookdeo was processed without incident and will appear in Schenectady City Court to answer the charges.
