On April 24, 2020, State Police in Wilton arrested 24-year -old Giovanna M. Decamp of Fort Edward, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated- Leandra‚Äôs Law (E felony) and Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor).

Decamp was stopped on State Route 197 in the Town of Moreau for a traffic offense shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Friday. While interviewing Decamp, Troopers were able to detect the odor of alcohol and observed signs of impairment. Decamp was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she failed. When Troopers attempted to place Decamp in custody, she actively resisted. A 3-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

Decamp was transported to SP Wilton where she refused to provide a breath sample. She was processed, and arraigned Moreau Town Court, and is due to return on June 3, 2020. She is also scheduled for a hearing with the Department of Motor Vehicles on May 1, 2020 after refusing to submit to the breath test.
