On August 1, 2020, State Police in Guilderland arrested 23-year-old Thomas E. Isiah, 21-year-old Teon K. Williams, 19-year-old Kiara M. McCoy, and a 17-year-old juvenile. All four Albany residents were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree- Narcotic Drug (B felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree- Intent to Sell (B felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree- Methamphetamine (C felony), six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of a Marihuana 4th degree (A misdemeanor).
Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, State Police stopped Teon Williams for a series of traffic infractions as he traveled on Western Avenue in the city of Albany. While speaking with Williams, the Trooper could smell the odor of alcohol and marihuana coming from inside of the vehicle. Williams was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and did not show signs of impairment.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and Williams’ passengers, Thomas Isiah, Kiara McCoy and a juvenile, was conducted. The search revealed that they were in possession of approximately 23.5 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 92.4 grams of marihuana, as well as quantities of concentrated cannabis, Xanax, alprazolam, and hydrocodone.
All four suspects were taken into custody and transported to SP Latham for processing. The three adults were transported to Albany County Jail to await arraignment. The juvenile was issued an appearance ticket for Family Court and released to the care of a parent.
