PRESS RELEASE

On January 10th, 2022, New York State Troopers arrested Fidel Olmo, 36, of Fredonia, for Criminal Contempt 1st Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and two counts of Criminal Mischief 4th Degree.

The Troopers responded to a residence in Fredonia for a report of a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed that Olmo arrived at the victim’s residence and broke through the door when she refused to allow him inside. Olmo then kicked the victim, causing the victim to fall onto the floor, knocking over one of the children in the process. When the victim attempted to call 911, Olmo hung up and threw the phone. Olmo then struck the victim, causing a bruise to the victim’s forehead. Olmo then fled the scene. This was all in violation of an order of protection against Olmo. Attempts to located Olmo were unsuccessful until the following day when he was observed by Troopers walking down the road. Olmo was placed under arrest, processed at SP Fredonia and issued appearance tickets. Olmo is scheduled to appear in the town of Pomfret Court later in the month.
