Friendship man arrested for felony aggravated DWI after Belmont accident

On September 5, 2020, SP Amity Troopers arrested Joseph R. Reed, 28, of Friendship, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated – Previous Conviction Within Ten Years and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated - BAC Over 0.18%.

Troopers investigating a one-car accident on State Route 19 in the village of Belmont determined Reed had been operating a vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Reed was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.19% BAC.

Reed was arrested and released with appearance tickets for Belmont Village Court, where he is due to appear later this month.
