Friendship man arrested for menacing, weapons charge in Angelica

On August 19, 2020, SP Amity Troopers arrested Matthew R. Hurd, 30, of Friendship, NY for Menacing 2nd Degree and Possession of a Loaded Firearm in a Motor Vehicle.

Troopers investigating a complaint of a male acting erratically with a gun in the village of Angelica determined Hurd had been running through yards and streets and behaving in a paranoid manner. He pointed a loaded weapon at another party, and another loaded weapon was located in his vehicle. He was determined to be under the influence of methamphetamine.

Hurd was arrested and released with appearance tickets for Angelica Village Court where he is due to appear in September.
