On March 14th, 2020, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested James Bostaph, 63, of Gerry, for Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
The Troopers responded to a residence in Gerry for a report of a child that had been shot with a BB gun. Investigation revealed that the 11-year-old victim was attempting to retrieve his dog that had gone onto Bostaph’s property when Bostaph shot the victim. Bostaph was placed under arrest, processed at SP Jamestown and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
