On June 5, 2020, State Police in Queensbury arrested 31-year-old Jacob M. Wells of Glens Falls, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree- Intent to Sell (B felony), Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug 4th degree (C felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor), Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree (A misdemeanor), Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree (A misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor).

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Thursday night, state police attempted to stop Wells for a series of traffic infractions as he operated his motorcycle on Glen Street in the city of Glens Falls. When the Trooper activated their lights to initiate a stop, Wells passed multiple cars, accelerating to a high rate of speed. Wells failed to negotiate a bend in the road and struck a guiderail. He fled on foot, but was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

Wells was found to be in possession of approximately 12 grams of cocaine and a metal straw containing cocaine residue. He was transported to Glens Falls Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash. He was released and processed at SP Queensbury. Wells was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court and released on his own recognizance, he is due back on June 22, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
