Groton woman charged after menacing victim

On October 14, 2022, New York State Police at Ithaca Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Cypress Jana V. Hill, age 25 of Groton, NY for the class “B” felony of Burglary in the first degree and the class “E” felony of Criminal Contempt in the first degree.  She was also charged with the misdemeanor of Menacing in the second degree for a second incident. 

On October 9, 2022, Troopers were dispatched by Tompkins County 911 to a report of a dispute on Ward Boulevard in the town of Newfield.  An investigation revealed that Hill entered a residence by kicking the door open then threatened a victim with a knife.  Hill also violated an order of protection while at the residence. 

On October 10, 2022, troopers were dispatched to a report that Hill menaced the same person with a knife near the intersection of Millard Hill and Elmira Road in the town of Newfield. 

Hill was arrested on October 14, 2022 and processed at SP Ithaca.  She was transported to Tompkins County Centralized Arraignment and Processing.
