At approximately 9:25 p.m. Saturday evening, State Police responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the town of Hebron. Investigation at the scene determined that Egbert Shaw had a domestic dispute with a female victim who was the protected party in a full stay away order of protection against him. During the dispute Shaw threw the victim out of the house and then up against a propane tank that was outside of the home. A neighbor heard the commotion and saw Shaw in a physical altercation with the female and attempted to intervene. Shaw struck him with a garden rake multiple times causing injury. The neighbor was treated for a laceration at Glen Falls Hospital.

Shaw resisted being taken into custody but was successfully secured and transported to SP Greenwich for processing. Shaw was arraigned in Washington County Centralized Arraignment Part and remanded to Washington County Jail on $500 cash or $1,000 bond. He is due in Hebron Town Court on August 20, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
