On October 15, 2021, SP Amity Troopers investigated a hit and run property damage motor vehicle crash on State Route 305 in the town of Belfast.  They located the damaged vehicle further down the road and determined that Jacob N Boring was the operator.  Boring had slurred speech, glassy eyes and imparied motor functions.  Boring performed a battery of standardized field sobriety tests, which all indicated that he was impaired by alcohol.  Three of the passengers in the vehicle were 16 years old and younger. They arrested Boring and transported him to SP Amity for processing, where a breath test revealed him to have a 0.24% BAC.
Boring was issued appearance tickets for the town of Belfast court, where he is due to appear in November 2021.
