PRESS RELEASE
On January 2, 2021, at approximately 7:55 p.m., State Police initiated a traffic stop on State Route 37 in the town of Fort Covington, for speeding, 46mph in a posted 30mph zone. The vehicle failed to stop. It continued on State Route 37, speeding up. The suspect vehicle eventually turned north onto Mary Riley Road and then onto Burns Holden Road, where it ran into a marked State Police vehicle, and then became disabled. The driver was taken into custody and identified as 35-year-old Abraham T. Gray of Hogansburg. He was found in possession of various pills, a quantity of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug 4th degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree, and Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree. Gray was virtually arraigned by the Dickinson Town Court and released. He is scheduled to appear in the Fort Covington Town Court at a later date.
