Homer woman arrested after failing to scan items

On November 11, 2022, at approximately 6:29 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested Ashley L. Jenkins, age 37 of Homer, NY for the class “E” felony of Grand Larceny in the fourth degree. 

Troopers were dispatched to a report of a larceny suspect at Walmart in the town of Cortlandville.  An investigation revealed that Jenkins scanned some of her merchandise while at the self-checkout but failed to scan over $1,000 of other items.  She was arrested by troopers and transported to SP Homer where she was released on appearance tickets to the Cortlandville Town Court on November 28, 2022.
