On November 8, 2019, State Police in Queensbury arrested 33-year-old Melissa L. Stearns of Hudson Falls, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, a D felony.
Shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday, State Police stopped Stearns for a traffic infraction as she travelled down Hudson Ave. in the City of Glens Falls. While interviewing Stearns, the Trooper observed multiple signs indicative of drug use. A subsequent search of Stearns and the vehicle revealed that she was in possession of approximately 2.5 grams of crack cocaine.
Stearns was taken into custody and transported to SP Queensbury for processing. She was arraigned at Warren County Centralized Arraignment Part, and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Queensbury Town Court at a later date.
