Humphrey crash leads to aggravated DWI charge for Olean man

On June 2, 2019, SP Olean Troopers arrested Derek C. Whitmore, 32, of Olean, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated: BAC of .18% or More, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

During their investigation of a one-car accident on Chapel Hill Road in the town of Humphrey, Whitmore, the driver, who was found at a residence on Laurens Street in the city of Olean, was exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication. Troopers determined he had been operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests. Whitmore was then arrested and transported to SP Olean, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.30% BAC.

Whitmore was issued appearance tickets for Humphrey Town Court, where he is due to appear in July.
