PRESS RELEASE

On May 27th, 2022, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Patrick Patterson, 47, of Jamestown, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree.

The Troopers responded to the westbound lane of Interstate 86 in Kennedy for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed that Patterson was driving west on I-86 when a tire popped, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and strike a guardrail. Patterson exhibited multiple signs of drug impairment and was placed under arrest after failing several SFSTs. Patterson was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and his driving privileges had been suspended multiple times.  At SP Jamestown, Patterson was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert and determined to be under the influence of narcotics and a Central Nervous System stimulant. Patterson provided a blood sample at UPMC Chautauqua and was then transported back to SP Jamestown for processing. Patterson was later released with tickets and is scheduled to appear in the town of Poland Court on a later date. Patterson was uninjured in the accident.
