Jamestown man with federal warrant attempts to evade Troopers.

 

On July 07, 2020 at 6:00pm, Troopers out of SP Fredonia arrested Omar A. Vera Velazquez, 22 of Jamestown, NY for Criminal Impersonation 2nd, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd and other vehicle and traffic violations.

 

Troopers stopped Velazquez for an expired inspection dated for December 2019 on NY-60 in the village of Fredonia.  After giving Troopers a fake name and date of birth, Velazquez attempted to flee officers by foot, running through the Walmart parking lot where he was quickly apprehended and placed under arrest.

 

Velazquez was transported to SP Fredonia and further investigation revealed that he was wanted by the U.S. Marshals for probation violation.  Velazquez was transported and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
