PRESS RELEASE
 
On May 25th, 2022, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Tyler Bemis, 30, of Jamestown, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.
 
The Troopers pulled Bemis over on Hall Street in Jamestown for expired registration. Bemis displayed signs indicative of drug impairment and was placed under arrest after failing SFSTs. Additional investigation revealed that Bemis was in possession of psilocybin mushrooms during the traffic stop and that his driving privileges in New York were suspended. Bemis was transported to SP Jamestown where he was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert and determined to be under the influence of hallucinogens and cannabis. A blood sample was obtained from Bemis at UPMC Chautauqua and he was transported back to SP Jamestown for processing. Bemis was then issued tickets and released, to appear in the city of Jamestown Court on a later date.
