On September 2nd, 2020, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Michael Barringer, 44, of Jamestown, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest.
The Troopers responded to a residence in Sherman for a report of a larceny. Investigation revealed that Barringer had stolen several pieces of valuable jewelry, cash and documents while at the residence. Barringer was later located in the City of Jamestown and attempted to flee Troopers but was taken into custody after a foot chase. In Barringer’s possession were the reported stolen items, a bag containing over 12 grams of methamphetamine and bags containing over 14 grams of heroin. Barringer was transported to SP Jamestown where he was processed and then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
