On March 1st, 2020, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested William Purdy, 31, of Jamestown, for two counts of Harassment 2nd Degree, Trespass and Resisting Arrest.
 
The Troopers responded to a residence in Conewango Valley for a report of a domestic incident. Investigation revealed that during an argument, Purdy struck one of the victims with a closed fist and threatened harm to both victims, including threats to burn the residence down. Purdy refused to leave the residence upon instruction but fled when the police were called. The Troopers confirmed that Purdy was also wanted by the Jamestown Police Department on an outstanding warrant and shortly afterward located Purdy walking on Route 62. Purdy fled from the Troopers but was taken into custody after a foot pursuit. Purdy was processed at SP Jamestown, arraigned in the town of Conewango Court, and turned over to Jamestown Police Officers.
