Jefferson man arrested for menacing victims with a shotgun.

New York State Police Troopers and Investigators stationed at SP Cobleskill arrested a 41-year-old Jefferson man for the Class A Misdemeanors of Menacing 2nd and Endangering the Welfare of a Child less than 17-years-old.

Matthew J. Maxim was arrested overnight after Troopers were called to a complaint of a man with gun in the Town of Jefferson.  Responding Troopers determined that Maxim had brandished a shotgun and made threats to two individuals during a dispute.  The Endangering the Welfare of a Child charge stemmed from one of the victims being less than 17-years-old.

Troopers were able to take Maxim into custody and secure the shotgun he is alleged to have used in the incident without further incident.   Maxim was arraigned in the Town of Jefferson Court where he was released to re-appear at a future date.
