On October 18, 2019, State Police in Granville arrested 22-year-old Scott R. Beck of Kingsbury, for Falsely Reporting an Incident and Offering a False Instrument for Filing 2nd degree, both A misdemeanors.
Beck contacted State Police shortly after midnight on October 15, 2019, to report that someone had broken into his apartment and stolen $600 from a lockbox.
Investigation lead to the arrest of an 18-year-old for Burglary 2nd degree and Criminal Mischief 4th degree, after they entered Becks’ residence unlawfully, causing damage to a door in doing so. Troopers also discovered that the suspect did not take money, but had stolen a quantity of marijuana. Beck had falsely reported that money was taken instead.
Becks was issued an appearance ticket for Kingsbury Town Court on October 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. The 18-year-old was arraigned in Washington County Centralized Arraignment Part and ordered to appear before Washington County Family Court at a later date.
