On January 27, 2020, State Police in Saratoga arrested 28-year-old Rakim L. Johnson of Lake George, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (B felony), Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug 4th degree (C felony), and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor).
Shortly after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, State Police stopped a vehicle driven by Johnson after he was observed to have committed multiple traffic infractions as he travelled down I-87 in Saratoga.
When the Trooper approached Johnson, they could smell the odor of marihuana emanating from the interior of his vehicle. A subsequent search of Johnson revealed that he was in possession of approximately 6.2 grams of cocaine and approximately 50 bags of heroin.
Johnson was taken into custody and transported to SP Wilton for processing. He was arraigned in Saratoga City Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on February 4, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
