Cheektowaga, NY – On December 22, 2019, at approximately 2:25 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 in the town of Cheektowaga, for a vehicle and traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle, Gerald J. Wirth, 45, of Lake View, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  He was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Buffalo where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.21%. 
 
Wirth was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor and a Vehicle and Traffic Violation.  He was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Cheektowaga Court on January 6, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.
