Chemung County 911 center dispatched the New York State Police to Olympia Sports in the Arnot mall in the Town of Big Flats, on Wednesday August 5th. The manager of the store told police that they saw a man, later identified as Brandon McArthur, age 35 of Elmira, conceal clothing in his pants and backpack and leave the store. McArthur was located riding his bicycle behind the Econo Lodge and was arrested for petit larceny. McArthur had concealed $ 497 worth of merchandise and was also ticketed for possession of burglar tools. He is to return to the Town of Big Flats court at a later date.
