The New York State Police will increase patrols to crack down on drunk and drugged driving and other traffic infractions over the Fourth of July holiday. This special enforcement period will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, and run through 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

After police responded to the scene, it was determined an unidentified male suspect threatened a vehicle operator with a knife and then stole the victim’s truck.

On August 13, 2021, State Police charged 35-year old Matthew W. Hopper of Dekalb, NY, with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, a class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor.

On August 11, 2021 at approximately 11:15 p.m. State Police arrested 38-year-old Joel M. Halstead of Berea, Ohio, for DWI following a traffic stop on Wawbeek Avenue in the village of Tupper Lake.
On August 11, 2021, at approximately 12:10 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at JC Penney, 60 Smithfield Boulevard in the town of Plattsburgh.
On August 11, 2021, at approximately 7:27 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on State Route 374 in Chateaugay.
On August 10, 2021, at approximately 8:05 p.m., State Police responded to the Chateaugay Port of Entry on County Route 52 for two males illegally in possession of firearms.
On August 10, 2021, State Police arrested 42-year-old Ryan M. Wicks of Dekalb, following an investigation of criminal mischief that was reported on August 1.

On August 7, 2021, at 7:07 p.m., State Police responded to a residence on County Route 12 in Gouverneur for a report of criminal mischief. 27-year-old Amber L. Dashner of Gouverneur had struck a mailbox at a neighboring residence, causing damages.
