The New York State Police will crack down on impaired and reckless driving during Super Bowl weekend. The special STOP-DWI enforcement campaign will include increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify, and arrest impaired drivers, as well as underage drinking enforcement. On January 18, 2021, at approximately 1:24 p.m. State Police initiated a traffic stop on Park Street in the village of Malone. The vehicle stopped and the female operator refused to provide identification or comply with any other requests by the trooper.

On January 11, 2021, at approximately 4:20 p.m., State Police arrested 23-year-old Tristan A. Dupigny of Plattsburgh following a traffic stop on Tom Miller Road in the town of Plattsburgh.
On January 11, 2021, at approximately 11:15 a.m., State Police responded to report of an altercation in the town of Tupper Lake. An investigation revealed that 21-year-old Chase J. Vaillancourt-Nadeau of Tupper Lake menaced the victim with a knife inside the victim's car while they were driving.
On January 10, 2021, State Police arrested 50-year-old James E. Kelley of Louisville, for one count of Providing a False Written Statement and one count of Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd degree, following an investigation into a report of a stolen vehicle.
On January 10, 2021, at approximately 4:56 p.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche pick-up truck on State Highway 37, in the town of Oswegatchie. The operator, identified as 31-year-old Quinton J. Lancto, of Gouverneur, and passenger 28-year-old Amber L. Gilmore of Canton, were subsequently arrested.

On January 7, 2021, State Police arrested 32-year-old Andrew C. Dickerson, of Plattsburgh, after Plattsburgh City Police located him at Stewart’s Shop on Cornelia Street in the city of Plattsburgh and took him into custody on a State Police arrest warrant for Petit Larceny. Dickerson was also determined to be a suspect in several other area investigations.

On January 3, 2021, at about 10:45 a.m., State Police initiated a traffic stop on a Ford Mustang on State Route 190 in the town of Plattsburgh, for having no front license plate. The operator, 41-year-old Marcus S. King of Plattsburgh, was subsequently arrested for DWI.

The New York State Police and the New York State Department of Transportation today announced the opening of the New York State Police-New York State Department of Transportation patrol and commercial vehicle inspection facility located 2,500 feet south of the NYS/Canadian International border at exit 43 of I-87/Northway, in Champlain, NY.
