Troop C - Sidney

The New York State Police, in conjunction with the New York State Attorney General’s Office are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in Cortland County. 

On December 25, 2022, at approximately 12:29 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta were dispatched to assist the Oneonta City Fire Department with a fully engulfed single wide trailer at the Oneida Village Mobile Home Park. Located on Oneida Street in the town of Oneonta. 

All businesses checked during an Underage Drinking Initiative in Otsego County were in compliance for an initiative that took place on December 21, 2022. 

The New York State Police in Painted Post announce the arrest of 51-year-old Lauren S. Brooks, of West Edmeston, New York.  Brooks was arrested following an investigation and subsequent indictment by the Steuben County Grand Jury, for contact he had with a minor child. These incidents of contact occurred while Brooks resided in the town of Corning from 2012-2016.

New York State Police at Ithaca have received several calls that someone is contacting residents in Tompkins County and identifying themselves a trooper and that you are a victim of a scam.

On December 19, 2022, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Oneonta arrested Robert T. Henness, age 24 of Otego, NY for the class “A” felony of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child and the misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 

Members of Troop “C” have responded to 172 weather related incidents since the snow began to fall yesterday afternoon.

On December 14, 2022, around 7:30 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of “shots fired” at a residence on Beech Hill Road in the town of Andes. 

On December 14, 2022, New York State Police at Sidney arrested Jeffrey M. Bullis, age 19 of Unadilla, NY for the misdemeanors of Criminal Contempt in the second degree, Stalking in the fourth degree and Criminal Trespass in the third degree. 

On December 12, 2022, State Police in Troop G and Troop C arrested James Galarneau, 45, of Albany, NY, for four counts of Petit Larceny, three counts of Conspiracy in the Sixth Degree, and Scheme to Defraud in the Second Degree.

Megan M. Laprade, 43, of Massena, NY, was arrested for four counts of Petit Larceny, three counts of Conspiracy in the Sixth Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree, and Scheme to Defraud in the Second Degree.
