Troop G - Latham

The New York State Police will increase patrols to crack down on drunk and drugged driving and other traffic infractions over the Fourth of July holiday. This special enforcement period will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, and run through 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

On June 25, 2022, State Police participated in a multi-agency traffic enforcement detail explicitly looking for drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.

On June 29, 2022, members of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Forensic Investigation Unit, K9 Unit, Underwater Recovery Team, and Uniform Force conducted a search in South Troy related to the 2007 disappearance of 12-year-old Jaliek Rainwalker.

On June 28, 2022, at approximately 6:52 p.m.,  State Police were called to Saratoga Lake in the town of Saratoga for a report of an accidental drowning.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. on June 28, 2022, State Police responded to I-87 in the area of exit 20 for the report of an injured incarcerated individual on a New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision transportation bus.

On June 18, 2022, the New York State Police conducted an Underaged Drinking Enforcement Detail in Rensselaer County. During the initiative businesses were checked for compliance. Four people were charged with Unlawful Dealing with a Child 1^st degree, a class A misdemeanor, after selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21.

On June 24, 2022, State Police in Queensbury arrested Michael Murray for Robbery in the First Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.

On June 26, 2022, State Police in Clifton Park arrested Fatoma Ahmad, 30 of Clifton Park, NY for Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  

On June 26, 2022, State Police in Chestertown arrested Divine Wilson, 20 and Katelynn Cromp, 19 both of Hudson Falls, NY for Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Conspiracy in the fifth degree.

On June 21, 2022, Troopers out of SP Queensbury responded to a despondent woman threatening to jump from the Gurney Lane overpass onto I-87

On June 20, 2022, at 10:55 p.m., Troopers out of SP Queensbury arrested Ismael Rentas, 58 of Queensbury, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated.

At approximately 4 p.m. on June 11, 2022, State Police responded to a possible drowning in the Hudson River in the area of Davern Road, in the town of Lake Luzerne. 

State Police are currently investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred in the Town of Ballston shortly after 7:00 a.m. this morning.

State Police are currently investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on I-87 in the town of Malta.

State Police are currently investigating an early morning motor vehicle crash in Saratoga Springs.

On June 1, 2022, the New York State Police in Queensbury arrested 30-year-old Alex A. Strivale of Ballston Spa for Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug 4^th degree (C felony) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th degree (A misdemeanor).

On May 31, 2022, the New York State Police in Schodack arrested 39-year-old Jessica M. Muller of East Greenbush for Criminal Sexual Act 2^nd degree (D felony), Unlawful Dealing with a Child 1^st degree (A misdemeanor), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor).

On May 29, 2022, at about 11:16 p.m., State Police responded to a property damage crash on the NYS Thruway in the southbound lanes south of Exit 23 in the town of Bethlehem.

On May 27, 2022, the New York State Police conducted an Underaged Drinking Enforcement Detail in Warren County. During the initiative 25 businesses were checked for compliance. Two people were charged with Unlawful Dealing with a Child 1^st degree, a class A misdemeanor, after selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21.

On May 30, 2022, at about 6:28 p.m., the Schenectady Police Department reported that one of its marked patrol SUVs was stolen from Ellis Hospital by a subject they had transported to the facilty for an evaluation.

*Charges updated* At approximately 9:53 p.m. on May 28, 2022, State Police in Latham responded to fatal a two-car motor vehicle accident on I-87 north in the town of Colonie. 

On May 24, 2022, the New York State Police in Latham arrested 26-year-old Jalon Roberts of Albany for Possession of a Weapon 2^nd degree (C felony) and Reckless Endangerment 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor).

On May 20, 2022, the New York State Police from SP Wilton and SP Clifton Park arrested 36-year-old Rahsaan L Fennicks of Schenectady for Aggravated Family Offense (E felony), Criminal Contempt 1^st degree (E felony), Criminal Mischief 4^th degree (A misdemeanor), Assault 3^rd degree (A misdemeanor), Criminal Obstruction of Breath (A misdemeanor), Reckless Endangerment 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor), and Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3^rd degree (A misdemeanor).

On May 22, 2022, the New York State Police in Saratoga arrested 35-year-old Nathan J. Meyers of Schenectady for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd degree (B felony) Falsifying Business Records 1^st degree (E felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th degree (A misdemeanor), Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor), and False Personation (B misdemeanor). Troopers also charged 43-year-old Anthony L. Enright of Schenectady Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd degree (B felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th degree (A misdemeanor), and False Personation (B misdemeanor).

Cobleskill man arrested for promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child following a search warrant.

On May 16, 2022, the New York State Police at SP Capital arrested 25-year-old Alex P. Slagle of Albany, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3^rd degree (D felony), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4^th degree (E felony), and Criminal Mischief 4^th degree (A misdemeanor).

The New York State Police from SP Fonda are currently investigating a fatal fire that occurred at 517 State Route 67 in the town of Ephratah.

Hoosick Falls, New York – On May 16, 2022, the New York State Police, in conjunction with the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, arrested Robert B. Ashe, 62, of Wynantskill NY for Official Misconduct.

On May 11, 2022, the New York State Police in Queensbury arrested 33-year-old Brian A. Combs of Queensbury for 2 counts of Predatory Sex Assault Against a Child, a class A-II felony, and Sex Abuse 1^st degree- Victim Less Than 11 Years of Age, a class D felony.

State Police are investigating a fatal vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 254 in the town of Queensbury.

On May 7, 2022, the New York State Police in Clifton Park arrested 41-year-old Elizabeth M. Sheyon of Troy for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor.

On May 7, 2022, the New York State Police in Greenwich arrested Dane E. Nelson 41, of Hebron for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd degree (D felony), Menacing 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor), and Driving While Ability Impaired-Alcohol (infraction).

On April 26, 2022, the New York State Police in Queensbury arrested 37-year-old Jalil K. Hill of Bridgeport, CT and Tyrone Williams, 32, Long Island City, NY. Both men were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1^st degree (A felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd degree- Intent to Sell (B felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd degree (C felony), and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5^th degree (A misdemeanor). Williams was additionally charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument 2^nd degree (D felony), Falsifying Business Records 1^st degree (E felony), and Criminal Impersonation 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor).

On April 23, 2022, State Police arrested Lamess A. Ahmed, 28, of Schenectady, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd degree (2 counts) and Promoting Prison Contraband 1st degree.

On April 25, 2022, State Police arrested Billy G. Cassell, 42, of Kingsbury, for Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, Criminal Contempt 2nd degree, Assault 3rd degree, Menacing 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree.

On April 22, 2022, State Police arrested Harlon K. Feferbaum, 39, of Brooklyn for Criminal Possession of Cannabis 1st degree.

On April 23, 2022, the New York State Police in Latham arrested 19-year-old Rashat Savini of Rotterdam for Criminal Mischief 3rd degree (E felony), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor), Making Graffiti (A misdemeanor), Conspiracy 5th degree (A misdemeanor), and Trespass (violation). A 15-year-old was also charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree (E felony), Making Graffiti (A misdemeanor), Conspiracy 6th degree (B misdemeanor), and Trespass (violation).

On Sunday, April 24, 2022, at approximately 7:47 p.m., State Troopers responded to a reported vehicle submerged in the Sacandaga River along Old Corinth Road in the town of Hadley.

On April 20, 2022, the New York State Police in Schuylerville arrested 40-year-old Elisha L. Novak of Gansevoort, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated- Leandra’s Law (E felony) and Driving While Intoxicated- Previous Conviction (E felony).

On April 20, 2022, the New York State Police in Greenwich arrested 26-year-old Erica L. Leskowsky of Latham, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor.

On April 20, 2022, the New York State Police in Wilton arrested Jonathan M. Foley of Ballston Spa for Driving While Intoxicated- 2 Previous Convictions (D felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1^st degree (E felony), and Use of a Vehicle Without an Interlock Device (A misdemeanor).

On April 17, 2022, the New York State Police in Fonda arrested 54-year-old John H. Austin Jr. of Little Falls, NY, for Burglary 1^st degree (B felony), Criminal Mischief 3^rd Degree (E felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th degree (A misdemeanor), and Menacing 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor).

On April 15, 2022, State Police in Fonda arrested 44-year-old Kelly J. Simpson and 19-year-old Cassandra J. Simpson, of the town of Root. Each were charged with five counts of Section 353 of the Agriculture & Markets Law, Torturing or Injuring Animals/Failure to Provide Sustenance, a class A misdemeanor.

On April 12, 2022, State Police Investigators in Mayfield, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, arrested 27-year-old Dustin L. Sparks of Perth for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child (D felony) and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (E felony).

On April 9, 2022, the New York State Police in Wilton arrested 25-year-old Dylan J. Lyon of Fort Edward for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor.

On April 9, 2022, the New York State Police in Cobleskill arrested 45-year-old Antonio M. Lopez of Carlisle, NY, for Assault 2^nd degree (D felony), Menacing 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th degree (A misdemeanor).

On April 6, 2022, the New York State Police in Clifton Park arrested 30-year-old Craig R. Derusso and 34-year-old Emily N. Roerig both of Clifton Park. Each was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4^th degree (E felony), Identity Theft 3^rd degree (A misdemeanor) and Conspiracy 5^th degree (A misdemeanor).

On April 4, 2022, the New York State Police conducted an Underaged Drinking Enforcement Detail in Schenectady County. During the initiative 23 businesses were checked for compliance. Three people were charged with Unlawful Dealing with a Child 1^st degree (A misdemeanor) after selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21.

***2nd UPDATE: Names Released*** State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on I-90 in the town of Guilderland.

The New York State Police will participate in a national crackdown on distracted driving as part of April’s National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The enforcement effort, called Operation Hang Up, will include increased patrols and checkpoints targeting drivers using electronic devices while behind the wheel. This year’s enforcement detail will run from Monday, April 4, through Monday, April 11.

On March 29, 2022, the New York State Police in Latham arrested 55-year-old Fred P. Rafferty of Watervliet for Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child (A felony), Rape 1^st degree (B felony), and Criminal Sexual Act 1^st degree (B felony).

On March 23, 2022, the New York State Police in Latham, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the New York State Internet Against Crimes Taskforce, and the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force arrested 19-year-old Bryan F. Aviles Velasco of Troy. Aviles Velasco is charged with Attempted Rape 1^st degree (C felony), Attempted Criminal Sexual Act 1^st degree (C felony), and Patronizing a Prostitute 2^nd degree (E felony).

At approximately 4:46 a.m. on March 27, 2022, State Police responded to an early morning crash on the Northway northbound just south of the Twin Bridges

On March 26, 2022, State Police in Mayfield arrested 33-year-old Gary Morehouse of Queensbury and 31-year-old Jared Ellis of South Glens Falls for Robbery 1st degree, a class B felony.

On March 24, 2022, State Police Investigators in Wilton, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, arrested 36-year-old Adam S. Conlee of Gansevoort for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child (D felony) and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (E felony).

On March 16, 2022, State Police Investigators in Queensbury, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, arrested 24-year-old Zachary Buttling of Queensbury for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child (D felony) and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (E felony).

On March 16, 2022, the New York State Police in Latham arrested 27-year-old Edward J. Brophy Jr. of Cohoes for Menacing 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4h degree (A misdemeanor). State Police also charged an 18-year-old with Criminal Mischief 3^rd degree (E felony) and Reckless Endangerment 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor). A 16-year-old was charged with Assault 2^nd degree (D felony) Menacing 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4h degree (A misdemeanor).

On March 14, 2022, the New York State Police in Latham arrested 29-year-old Sara E. Reed of Rensselaer for Assault 2^nd degree (D felony) and Leaving the Scene of a Physical Injury Auto Accident (A misdemeanor).

At approximately 2:20 p.m. on March 10, 2022, the New York State Police responded to a car vs. pedestrian motor vehicle accident on Ballston Ave. in Ballston Spa.

At approximately 4:16 p.m. on March 10, 2022, the New York State Police responded to a fatal one-car motor vehicle crash on I-87 south in Saratoga Springs.

On March 7, 2022, the New York State Police in Brunswick, in conjunction with the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office, arrested 36-year-old Edward V. Perrotti-Sousis of Petersburg, following an indictment in Rensselaer County. Perrotti-Sousis is charged with 5 counts of Rape 2^nd degree (D felony), 2 counts of Criminal Sex Act 2^nd degree (D felony), 2 counts of Sex Abuse 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor), 3 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor), and Forcible Touching (A misdemeanor).

On March 9, 2022, State Police in Latham arrested 38-year-old Brian J. Boyle Jr. of Troy for Reckless Driving (unclassified misdemeanor) and Reckless Endangerment 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor) following crash on I-787 in Menands.

At approximately 12:22 a.m. on March 6, 2022, the New York State Police in Greenwich responded to a fatal one-car motor vehicle accident on State Route 22 in the town of Hebron.

On March 4, 2022, the New York State Police in Cobleskill arrested 34-year-old Monica Valentino of Esperance for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3^rd degree, both are class A misdemeanors.

On March 1, 2022, the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit arrested 48-year-old Samuel L. Robinson of Troy, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1^st degree (A felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd degree-Intent to Sell (B felony), Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor) and Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor).

Two men from Albany and Troy are facing gun charges following a pursuit in the City of Albany.

On February 27, 2022, at approximately 4:04 p.m., State Police were called to US Route 9 in the town of Warrensburg for a report of a hit and run.

Correction: Troopers were assisted by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

State Police in Fonda have arrested 34-year-old Michael M. Flores of Amsterdam and a juvenile in connection with a series of home invasions. Both are charged with one count of Burglary 1^st degree (B felony) for the burglary of a home in the Town of Broadalbin and one count of Burglary 1^st degree for the burglary of a home in the Village of Hagaman.

On February 21, 2022, State Police in Schodack arrested 39-year-old Dominick W. Mariani of Albany for Assault 2^nd degree (D felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd degree-Previous Conviction (D felony), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th degree (A misdemeanor).

On February 13, 2022, the State Police in Wilton arrested Austin S. Griffith of Gansevoort for Burglary 2^nd degree (C felony), Criminal Mischief 3^rd degree (E felony), Petit Larceny (A misdemeanor) and Harassment 2^nd degree (violation).

At approximately 7:46 a.m. on February 15, 2022, State Police responded to a fatal car versus tractor-trailer collision in the town of Schaghticoke.

On February 12, 2022, the New York State Police conducted an Underaged Drinking Enforcement Detail in Saratoga County. During the initiative 20 businesses were checked for compliance.

On February 11, 2022, State Police in Brunswick arrested 49-year-old Thomas B. Waicul of Halfmoon for Driving While Intoxicated- 2 Previous Convictions (D felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1^st degree (E felony) and Circumventing an Interlock Device (A misdemeanor).

On February 11, 2022, State Police in Cobleskill arrested 43-year-old Harry Olivier of Troy for three counts of Driving While Intoxicated-Leandra’s Law and eleven counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

At approximately 8:35 a.m. on February 9, 2022, the New York State Police responded to DeCrescente Distributing on Main Street in Mechanic for a report of a male who had fallen from the roof.

At approximately 3:49 a.m. on February 6, 2022, State Police responded to a fatal multi-car accident on I-87 in the town of Malta. Two people were killed in the collsion.

On January 29, 2022, the New York State Police in Saratoga arrested 64-year-old Jon A. Miles of Ballston Spa for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3^rd degree, a class D felony.

State Police have arrested 18-year-old Jeffrey A. McGough for Murder 2^nd degree (A felony), Robbery 1^st degree (B felony), and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd degree (C felony).

On January 28, 2022 at approximately 7:07 p.m., State Police in Granville responded to a fatal two-car motor vehicle accident on State Route 4 in the Town of Whitehall. 

On January 24, 2022, the New York State Police in Princetown arrested 63-year-old Michael R. Osbourne of Watervliet for Grand Larceny 3^rd degree (D felony) and Scheme to Defraud 1^st degree (E felony).

On January 22, 2022, the New York State Police in Clifton Park arrested 42-year-old Ryan M. Natalie of Glenville for two counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated- Leandra’s Law (E felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1^st degree (E felony), and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th degree (A misdemeanor).

On January 22, 2022, the New York State Police in Cobleskill arrested 32-yer-old Katie L. Gunther of Schenectady for Driving While Intoxicated-Previous Conviction (E felony), Reckless Endangerment 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor) and two counts of Criminal Mischief 4^th degree (A misdemeanor).

On January 20, 2022, the New York State Police in consultation with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, arrested Nicole K. Elmore for Attempted Murder 1^st degree, Aggravated Sexual Abuse in the 1^st degree, Assault 1^st degree, and Unlawful Imprisonment.

On January 18, 2022, the New York State Police in Queensbury arrested 50-year-old Stephen J. Postullo of Glens Falls for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor.

On January 15, 2022, the New York State Police in Fonda arrested 40-year-old Joshua J. Case of Florida, NY,  for Burglary 1^st degree, a class B felony.

On January 10, 2022, the New York State Police in Brunswick arrested 37-year-old Darel G. Manchester of Petersburg for Reckless Endangerment 1^st degree (D felony), Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1^st degree (A misdemeanor), two count of Forcible Touching (A misdemeanor), two counts of Menacing 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4^th degree (A misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief 4^th degree (A misdemeanor), and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor).

A preliminary investigation determined a suspect or suspects broke a front window to enter the town hall and damaged a display case inside.

On January 11, 2022, at approximately 1:45pm, State Police and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched by Saratoga County 911 to 129 Vosburgh Road in Clifton Park for a report of a domestic-related incident.

On January 5, 2022, the New York State Police in Cobleskill arrested 33-year-old Joseph D. Ayen and 36-year-old Jennifer C. Ayen of Middleburgh. Joseph Ayen is charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2^nd degree (a misdemeanor), Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor), Criminal Trespass 3^rd degree (B misdemeanor), Disorderly Conduct (violation), Harassment 2^nd degree (violation). Jennifer Ayen was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor) and Criminal Trespass 3^rd degree (B misdemeanor).

On December 31, 2021, the New York State Police in Fonda arrested 27-year-old Shaman Railine of Johnstown for two counts of Attempted Assault of a Police Officer (C felony), two counts of Criminal Mischief 2^nd degree (D felony), Reckless Endangerment (A misdemeanor), and Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3^rd degree (A misdemeanor).

On December 28, 2021, The New York State Police in Queensbury arrested 21-year-old Desirea LaRock and 20-year-old Carl E. LaRock, both of Hudson Falls. The pair was arrested following two investigations into the use of counterfeit currency.

On December 28, 2021, the New York State Police in Latham arrested 22-year-old Amelio L. Chabrier of Ilion, NY, for Rape 2^nd degree (D felony) and Criminal Sex Act 2^nd degree (D felony).

The New York State Police in Clifton Park are warning citizens of a scam that preys on grandparents after receiving multiple calls on what is known as the “Grandparent Scam” or “Family Emergency Scam”. 

On December 20, 2021, the New York State Police in Queensbury arrested 21-year-old Brandon W. Kathan of Hadley for Criminal Mischief 3^rd degree (E felony) and Criminal Mischief 4^th degree (A misdemeanor).

On December 18, 2021, the New York State Police in Clifton Park arrested 33-year-old William J. Thibodeau III of Cohoes for Burglary 2^nd degree (C felony), Criminal Contempt 1^st degree (E felony), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief 4^th degree (A misdemeanor), and Harassment 2^nd degree (violation).

Ruthosky Jr. of Guilderland on multiple charges including Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child (A-II felony).
