On July 7, 2022, at about 10:43 p.m., State Police and Washington County Sheriffs responded to 210 Jermain Hill Lane in White Creek for the report of a landlord-tenant dispute. After arriving at the scene, Matthew Parant, 38, who rents a home on the property, fired shots from a rifle at police and the property owner.
The New York State Police along with the Washington County District Attorney and Washington County Sheriff’s Office will be holding a media availability on Friday, July 8, at 2 p.m., at Troop G HQ in Latham, regarding the incident in White Creek that involved a suspect who fired shots at police.
The New York State Police will increase patrols to crack down on drunk and drugged driving and other traffic infractions over the Fourth of July holiday. This special enforcement period will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, and run through 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
On June 25, 2022, State Police participated in a multi-agency traffic enforcement detail explicitly looking for drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
On June 29, 2022, members of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Forensic Investigation Unit, K9 Unit, Underwater Recovery Team, and Uniform Force conducted a search in South Troy related to the 2007 disappearance of 12-year-old Jaliek Rainwalker.
On June 28, 2022, at approximately 6:52 p.m., State Police were called to Saratoga Lake in the town of Saratoga for a report of an accidental drowning.
At approximately 3:15 p.m. on June 28, 2022, State Police responded to I-87 in the area of exit 20 for the report of an injured incarcerated individual on a New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision transportation bus.
On June 18, 2022, the New York State Police conducted an Underaged Drinking Enforcement Detail in Rensselaer County. During the initiative businesses were checked for compliance. Four people were charged with Unlawful Dealing with a Child 1st degree, a class A misdemeanor, after selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21.
On June 24, 2022, State Police in Queensbury arrested Michael Murray for Robbery in the First Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.
On June 26, 2022, State Police in Chestertown arrested Divine Wilson, 20 and Katelynn Cromp, 19 both of Hudson Falls, NY for Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Conspiracy in the fifth degree.
