PRESS RELEASE
 

Van Buren, NY – On April 30, 2022, at approximately 2:20 a.m., State Police received a report of an erratic vehicle reported to be driving all over the road while traveling westbound on the Thruway.  Troopers observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on I-90 in the town of Van Buren for multiple violations.  The driver of the vehicle, Erik P. Vella, 42, of Liverpool, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  He was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Syracuse where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.24%. 

Vella was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor.  He was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Van Buren Court on May 9, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.
