State Police in North Syracuse arrested Billie Jo Britton, age 41, from Liverpool, NY, for (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (D-felony), Failure to Store Firearms 1st degree (A-misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest (A-misdemeanor).
On January 7, 2021, Troopers responded to a reported possible threat of suicide (no means mentioned) complaint at 8336 Falcone Drive in the town of Clay, NY.
Upon arrival, the suspect, Billie Britton, was inside the residence and barricaded in her bedroom. Troopers attempted to communicate with Britton and made entry into the room after a short period. Britton then jumped out the window and fled on foot through her backyard. She was apprehended without incident after a short foot chase. When the troopers entered the bedroom, they observed numerous long guns unsecured. Continuing the investigation, they conducted a consent search and seized (16) long guns and (2) illegal assault weapons.
Britton was processed and transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center for centralized arraignment.
